Black lines running across my ipod ...

Hi everyone,

I have an ipod Classic and one day i turned it on and found that i had two thin black lines running across the screen but there not scratches its under the actual screen, its almost as if the little pixel thingys have burnt out or something?
Is there anything i can do to fix it or can someone tell me what causes it because this is the second ipod that has had it in a year and a half and to be quite honest it peeves me off.

Please help???
