Bought a lemon
I just purchased a car on ebay. On the way home the moonroof wouldnt close & the radiator over heated. What are my rights as a buyer?||||||If this was for the $849 1087 Caddy, you're out of luck with the Vehicle Purchase Protection.|||First what is the auction number? Ebay Motors is very different than buying Ebay core items. Without seeing the auction, we can not advise you properly. Ebay offers a very limited Vehicle Protection Program called VPP. Unless the vehicle qualifies, all conditions are met there is no coverage for this type of issue. EBM VPP Link When you buy a used vehicle, anything can go bad at any point. Expect to have to make repairs to any used vehicle within the first 2 years.|||1987 = 23 year old vehicle does NOT qualify for VPP. When you buy a used 23 year old vehicle for $800 you can not expect something will not go bad mechanically.|||Wow you left the seller a NEG for a 23 yr ole hoopty for $800 Seems from the feedback you have left, many of your Ebay transactions are a problem.|||Those ole cars weren't worth a cats butt when they were new and rolling off the assembly line. I do think the seller kind of fluffed the car a little. But you are right, "YOU BOUGHT IT"! I don't see where the seller was twisting your arm to bid on it. The feedback you left is actionable and could end you up in court.|||HELLO The time to check for problems is before you pay for a car. Try all accessories, idle the engine for awhile, put some felt over a magnet and check the body for bondo. Demand a test drive.~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ I did not sell you my opinion||||||"The feedback you left is actionable and could end you up in court." Totally agree......That feedback would really P*** me off||||||unless stated used cars most come with a 10 feet warrenty . once iot moves 10 feet it's yours. if you were there to drive it , then you were there to inspect it . so it's yours . have the radiator serviced , might need a good flushing . buy a can of WD40 and spray slides and any place that might bind.|||Too bad Diddy isn't your Daddy...! Link~James~|||Your first mistake was not even considering the seller's FB. A few seconds there would have backed me up instantly. Link Your second was buying a garden slug variety 23 year old Cadillac as-is at a dirt cheap price with no prior inspection and then expecting everything to be fine with it. The 4.1 engines in these things were prone to problems anyway.|||"What are my rights as a buyer?" Really none in this instance. You need to check with the State in which you live in insofar as "Lemon Law" for vehicles. They vary from state to state, therefore you need to know if your '87 Caddy qualifies as a "Lemon." I'm not an attorney, however, I don't think that you would recover any amount due to the fact the age of the vehicle and that perhaps you did not perform or have performed any vehicle inspection prior to purchase. You brought a "lemon" try making lemonade. dvgvintage
