Please advise im kind of worried for a purchase
I bought an item from a 0 feedback seller and im kind of worried. Seller uploaded a USPS form of dispatch to assure me item has been posted can you guys confirm its genuine? i live in Greece thanks ">|||Don't panic...at least not yet. I tracked your package using the Customs # at the top of the dispatch sheet (the long number starting with "CQ") at USPS.com. This is the result: "Label/Receipt Number: CQ34 1197 230U S Class: Priority Mail International Parcels Service(s): International Parcels Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on June 9, 2010 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later. " This means is that 3 days ago, your Seller printed a label and paid the postage for it. There is no way for you to tell at this point that he actually posted it or not, except by accepting his word that he has. For example, I have shipped 10 items to various countries from the US in the past 2 weeks. 9 went by First Class Mail to Canada, Europe, & Australia. 1 went by Express Mail to Russia. The only one that shows I actually mailed it is the Express Mail package. All the rest say the same thing your tracking information says above. However, I KNOW that 2 of my First Class International Mail packages have actually been delivered, as my customers have told me so & left positive feed back. Priority Mail International (which is how your item was marked for shipment) and First Class Mail International are treated the same way by the US post office. Usually you will not see any tracking information until it reaches the destination country, and only then if your country's post scans it upon arrival. Know that it could take 30 - 40 days before you receive your package or have any information that it has in fact been mailed to you. It may take about 1 or 2 weeks to reach Greece, but then it will go to customs. I won't go into the merits of the dispatch form itself, but it looks genuine. HOWEVER, if you have not received your package by day 41... contact your local customs office and post office using the customs number on the dispatch form. If they don't have it, send your Seller a nice note letting him know the package is still no where in site, and you will be opening a case with Ebay simply to protect your right to be refunded should it be "lost in the mail." Give your Seller the benefit of the doubt, but do protect yourself. You only have 45 days FROM THE DAY YOU PAID FOR THE ITEM (I go by the day the auction ended myself, just to be safe) to open a case. After that neither Ebay nor PayPal will help you if you never receive your item. If the item shows up after you open your case, then close your case and let Ebay know you received it (remember, your Seller will know if it is delivered ... if it shows up AFTER Ebay reimburses you...do the right thing and pay your Seller again because you got what you bought. You have 60 days to leave feedback, so wait until you get your item before you do. I'm sure it is on its way...but you are right to ask for confirmation. Keep checking on it by putting that customs number into the "track a package" box on the USPS.com site I referenced above. If someone scans it along the way to your house it will show in the box...it does take a while for this information to show up so don't worry. Just keep the timeline above in mind as a last resort. Good luck!|||We have no way of knowing once the package leaves USA and enters the Greek postal system. Just wait about 40 days and if nothing is received, file the INR with Paypal. It looks like your seller did ship the item . You have 45 days from the date of payment to file. Take the customs # and go to www.usps.com track and confirm. It may or may not show when it enters Greek customs.||||||lallaw sorry to disagree, Paypal is much easier for a straight forward INR dispute. Ebay's Buyer Protection still has growing pains, poorly trained staff and often is very frustrating for both sellers and buyers according to several boards.||||||thanks for your answers guys. but what i need to know is whether someone can print that form i uploaded via USPS.com without actually shipping the item. i get this message when i try to track the item..thats why im worried "The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on June 9, 2010 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again late" item was shipped June 9th but i still get this message although 3 days have passed already||||||You did not pay for tracking. The customs number works for some countries as delivery confirmation IF they have the equipment and they remember to. In other words it may never say anything else and you will have the itemIt may not be your fault but it is your responsibility Silver rule "do not do to others what you would not like to be done to you"|||The reasoning by the po for the lack of acceptance scans is the online generated labels provide a dc/customs number at no or below counter cost because they in theory use less man hours(you do not tie up a counter person to pay postage and do an acceptance scan)It may not be your fault but it is your responsibility Silver rule "do not do to others what you would not like to be done to you"||||||Actually it's been updated - says it has left the US for international dispatch. See below. Or cut & paste the CQ number into USPS.com website in the "Track & Confirm" box & you can see it for yourself. In other words, it seems like it's on it's way. Label/Receipt Number: CQ34 1197 230U S Class: Priority Mail International Parcels Service(s): International Parcels Status: International Dispatch Your item left the United States from ISC CHICAGO IL (USPS) at 10:39 AM on June 12, 2010. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later. Enter Label/Receipt Number. Enter Label / Receipt Number. Detailed Results: International Dispatch, June 12, 2010, 10:39 am, ISC CHICAGO IL (USPS) Arrival Electronic Shipping Info Received, June 09, 2010 Track & Confirm by email Get current event information or updates for your item sent to you or others by email.I have the simplest of tastes. I am always satisfied with the best - Oscar Wilde|||You may experience a problem in Customs as the item is marked as a "Gift", and probably is not.|||makaveli* just relax and wait for the item to arrive. Since this is an international shipment , just wait the 30-40 days for the item to arrive.|||hmm... the sender's address shows shipped from San Jose CA, 9xx27 but the international dispatch is from chicago. does that mean there are no direct EU flights from the west coast? being a seller in chicago (I can see the O'Hare airport control tower from my balcony), i always assumed it was normal that packages would show an International Dispatch scan within 12-15 hours after dropping them off at the post office dock, but i guess thats just one of the advantages of being so close to the international hub. I may have to rethink my plans to move out to the desert next year... ... nope,, chicago weather still stinks...
